For years I worked around manufacturing and product development, especially wall clocks, home décor, mirrors, posters and related consumer products.
A listing begins long before the listing
The marketplace page is only the final visible layer of a product business. Manufacturing taught me to think about materials, components, production consistency, packaging, cost and stock before a customer ever sees an advertisement.
That experience also changed how I think about ecommerce margins. Revenue alone never tells the whole story; sourcing, production, logistics, advertising and returns all interact.
Operations became systems thinking
Coordinating physical products forces clear sequencing. If production is late, inventory fails. If packaging is weak, fulfillment creates damage. If product information is wrong, advertising can scale the wrong promise.
Years later, the same systems thinking would appear in software architecture: inputs, dependencies, validation, failure points and reliable outputs.
